  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 cups unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tsp almond extract (for frosting)
  • 35 tbsp heavy whipping cream (for frosting)
  • Salt (to taste for frosting)
  • Red and blue gel icing color (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake baking sheet with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla.
  5. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients with milk until smooth.
  6. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until done.
  7. For frosting, beat butter in a bowl, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in almond extract and cream to reach desired consistency.
  8. Frost cooled cupcakes using an offset spatula; decorate with gel icing colors for an American flag effect.
