Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar (for frosting)
- 2 tsp almond extract (for frosting)
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream (for frosting)
- Salt (to taste for frosting)
- Red and blue gel icing color (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake baking sheet with liners.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together butter and sugar in a stand mixer until fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla.
- Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients with milk until smooth.
- Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until done.
- For frosting, beat butter in a bowl, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in almond extract and cream to reach desired consistency.
- Frost cooled cupcakes using an offset spatula; decorate with gel icing colors for an American flag effect.
