Ingredients
- 1 (12-14 pound) whole turkey
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup fresh sage, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh thyme, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh rosemary, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- Onion, carrots, celery for stuffing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Prepare the herb butter by mixing softened butter with herbs and seasoning.
- Pat the turkey dry and create pockets under the skin. Spread half of the herb butter underneath and the rest on top.
- Stuff the cavity with quartered onion and chunks of carrot and celery.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan with chicken broth at the bottom. Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), basting every 30 minutes.
- Let rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
