Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cardamom, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light.
- Mix in vanilla extract and orange zest.
- Gradually add the flour mixture until just combined.
- Shape dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least one hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll chilled dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut out desired shapes.
- Place on lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on racks.
- To make glaze: whisk powdered sugar with orange juice and zest until smooth.
- Once cooled, drizzle glaze over cookies and let set before serving.
