  • 8 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 8 strips of cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  4. Place half of the bread slices butter-side down on the baking sheet. Top each slice with the bacon-cheese mixture and cover with remaining bread slices butter-side up.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Allow to cool for a minute before slicing into halves or quarters and serve warm.
