Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (cut into cubes)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and parsley. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil; mix to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour until doubled.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and pinch off small pieces (about 1.5 ounces). Flatten each piece, place a cheese cube inside, and wrap it into a ball shape.
- Arrange the balls on a greased baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
