Ingredients
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Additional melted butter and fresh parsley for finishing touches
Instructions
- Activate yeast by mixing warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Prepare filling by mixing minced garlic with shredded cheese.
- Punch down risen dough; divide into 12 pieces. Shape each piece around about a tablespoon of cheese-garlic filling.
- Place rolls seam-side down in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter again after baking; sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
