  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • sesame seeds, for garnish
  • green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Coat evenly in a mixture of flour and cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; fry chicken until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté chopped bell peppers and garlic until tender (3-4 minutes).
  4. Whisk together sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and soy sauce; add to vegetables and bring to simmer.
  5. Stir in cornstarch mixed with water to thicken the sauce (1-2 minutes).
  6. Add fried chicken and pineapple; toss to coat and heat through (2 minutes).
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
