- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups green buttercream frosting
- Candy decorations (M&Ms, mini marshmallows, chocolate stars)
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder (for chocolate version).
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just mixed.
- Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each about 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
- Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to swirl green frosting on top like Christmas trees. Decorate with candy and edible glitter.
