Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder (for chocolate version).
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just mixed.
  5. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each about 2/3 full. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
  7. Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to swirl green frosting on top like Christmas trees. Decorate with candy and edible glitter.
