Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 sleeve (about 30) saltine crackers
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring until it reaches a boil. Boil without stirring for 3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet and pour the hot caramel over them evenly.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until bubbly. While baking, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the hot caramel layer. Let cool for 10 minutes.
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled candy.
- Allow to cool completely at room temperature before breaking into pieces.
