Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (for sauce)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2–3 tablespoons red chili sauce (to taste)
- Soy sauce
- Rice vinegar
- Sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the batter by mixing flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika in one bowl. In another bowl, whisk together egg and cold water.
- Dip chicken pieces into the egg mixture then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a large skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken until golden brown and crispy (about 4-5 minutes) in batches.
- In a separate pan, heat oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar; cook until slightly thickened.
- Toss fried chicken in the sauce and serve immediately.
