Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until softened (4-5 minutes).
- Stir in kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), and beef broth.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Serve hot with optional garnishes like cilantro, sour cream, or shredded cheese.
