- 1 stick unsalted butter, diced
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons Kahlua, or other coffee liqueur
- 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
- 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- Ground cinnamon, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth; remove from heat.
- In a large bowl, mix melted chocolate with sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in espresso powder, vanilla extract, and salt; then fold in flour until just combined.
- Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes until moist crumbs appear on a toothpick.
- Cool brownies before cutting into bite-sized pieces; top with Kahlua buttercream and dust with cinnamon.
