Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar while mixing. Add heavy cream and peppermint extract; mix until smooth.
- Spread frosting over cooled brownies and top with crushed candy canes and sprinkles.
