  • 1 cup beef broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and salt; cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and caramelized. Stir in sugar after 10 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in both broths and season with thyme and black pepper; let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Toss cooked pasta into the skillet with the onion mixture until well combined.
  5. Sprinkle shredded Gruyère cheese on top, cover, and let it melt for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
