- 2 pounds russet potatoes
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Fresh herbs (parsley, chives, thyme)
Instructions
- Boil the Potatoes: In a large pot, cover diced potatoes with cold water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Simmer until tender (15-20 minutes), then drain.
- Sauté Garlic: In a small skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Mash the Potatoes: Return drained potatoes to the pot. Add remaining butter, heavy cream, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until creamy.
- Mix in Ingredients: Stir in sautéed garlic and chopped herbs until well combined. Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with additional herbs if desired.
