  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch + 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 12 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing cornstarch with water and combining beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the oil and cook the broccoli for about 4-5 minutes until tender; remove from pan.
  3. In the same skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until browned; drain excess grease.
  4. Add bell peppers to the beef mixture for another minute of cooking.
  5. Pour in the prepared sauce and let it simmer before adding the cornstarch mixture to thicken.
  6. Return broccoli to the pan; mix well and serve hot over cooked rice.
