Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup beef broth (or water)
- ¼ cup milk (optional, for added creaminess)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook olive oil and brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
- Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish followed by thinly sliced potatoes. Season generously and top with cheeses.
- Pour beef broth around the edges and optionally drizzle milk over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes; remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
