- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add the egg yolk, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt; mix until combined.
- Gradually add flour and stir until a soft dough forms. Optionally fold in chocolate chips.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Roll chilled dough into small balls (1 inch in diameter) and place on prepared sheets with space between each ball. Press down slightly and add sprinkles if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; cool before transferring to wire racks.
