- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs (such as basil and oregano)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente; drain.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef with salt and pepper. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian herbs, and salt until smooth.
- In a baking dish, layer beef sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella three times; finish with beef sauce and remaining cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden.
