- 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup fresh jalapeños, sliced
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 avocado, diced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the tater tots package instructions. Spread tater tots on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown (about 25-30 minutes).
- Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef with salt, pepper, and chili powder; cook until browned.
- Once tater tots are cooked, layer them on a platter. Top with cooked beef, black beans, jalapeños, and both cheeses.
- Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with sour cream, cilantro, and avocado if desired. Serve immediately.
