  • 1 (12-ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 6 slices sourdough bread
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, celery, red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Lay out three slices of sourdough bread. Spread a layer of tuna salad on each slice and top with cheddar cheese.
  3. Add another slice of bread on top of each sandwich and repeat by layering more tuna salad and cheese before placing the final slice of bread.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and spread softened butter on both sides of each sandwich.
  5. Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, then cut into quarters to serve warm.
