Ingredients
- 1 (12-ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
- ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
- 6 slices sourdough bread
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, celery, red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Lay out three slices of sourdough bread. Spread a layer of tuna salad on each slice and top with cheddar cheese.
- Add another slice of bread on top of each sandwich and repeat by layering more tuna salad and cheese before placing the final slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and spread softened butter on both sides of each sandwich.
- Grill the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, then cut into quarters to serve warm.
