Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage (or ground beef)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned.
- Sauté chopped onion and bell pepper until softened; add minced garlic and cook briefly.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and broth; stir in oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Add broken lasagna noodles; reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes until tender.
- Stir in ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
