  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons fresh ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 whole bay leaves, crumbled
  • 12-ounce can tomato paste
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place brisket on large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Rub with garlic.
  3. Combine pepper, celery seed, ginger, and bay leaves; season brisket generously.
  4. Mix tomato paste, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce; coat the meat evenly.
  5. Add onions on top of the brisket and wrap tightly in foil.
  6. Place in a roasting pan and cook for about 4 hours.
  7. Open foil, expose onions, and cook for an additional hour.
