- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
- Red pepper flakes
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bite-sized chicken pieces seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes).
- Stir in minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
- Add crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet. Mix in half of the mozzarella until melted.
- Serve topped with remaining mozzarella and fresh basil.
