- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 sandwich buns
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Shred chicken using two forks.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until caramelized (8-10 minutes). Set aside.
- Combine shredded chicken with half of the sautéed onions and cheese in a mixing bowl.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Fill sandwich buns with the chicken mixture, top with remaining cheese and onions.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
