  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by blanching the leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, chopped onion, garlic, spices, and beaten egg. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Lay one leaf flat and spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the filling at the base; fold sides and roll tightly.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread marinara sauce in a baking dish, place rolls seam-side down, pour remaining sauce over them, then cover with foil.
