Instructions
- Thinly slice the onions and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes; sauté for about 10 minutes until tender and beginning to caramelize.
- Add brown sugar to the onions and stir well. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, ensuring all onions are coated.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm or at room temperature.
