- 1 lb. round steak (or sirloin), thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper (half red, half green), sliced
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce (divided)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (divided)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (plus an additional tablespoon for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Slice the steak and vegetables, then marinate the steak with 2 tablespoons soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, cornstarch, and sugar for the glaze.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers for 3-5 minutes until tender; set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the marinated steak for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Return cooked vegetables to the skillet along with the glaze. Stir everything together for another minute until thickened.
- Serve hot over rice or in lettuce wraps.
