Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80% lean)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ cup masa harina
- 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 15 oz pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 14.5 oz diced tomatoes with juice
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Add diced garlic and tomato sauce; cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and cayenne pepper; reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
- Combine masa harina with water in a small bowl; add to the chili to adjust consistency as needed.
- Stir in drained kidney and pinto beans; simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
