  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes until bright green. Drain and place in an ice bath.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
  3. Fold the blanched green beans into the soup mixture along with half of the cheddar cheese and half of the fried onions.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese and fried onions; return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool briefly before serving.
