Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup French fried onions
Instructions
- Blanch the green beans in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes until bright green. Drain and place in an ice bath.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper; whisk until smooth.
- Fold the blanched green beans into the soup mixture along with half of the cheddar cheese and half of the fried onions.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until bubbly.
- Top with the remaining cheese and fried onions; return to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool briefly before serving.
