Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package (1 pound) puff pastry sheets
- 1 large egg
- Olive oil
- salt
- black pepper
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- dried oregano
- dried basil
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, egg, and breadcrumbs until combined. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides (about 5-7 minutes). Transfer to a baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over meatballs and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut to fit over the meatballs. Tuck edges into the dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Let cool slightly before inverting onto a serving platter.
