- 8 ounces lasagna noodles
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the Italian sausage; remove excess fat.
- Sauté chopped onion in the same skillet until softened, then add minced garlic.
- In a large pot, combine sausage, onion, garlic, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; bring to a simmer.
- Stir in cooked noodles and ricotta cheese; mix well before adding half of mozzarella and parmesan. Simmer until heated through.
- Serve topped with remaining cheeses and fresh basil.
