Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sake (or white wine)
- 1 tablespoon mirin (or honey)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for grilling)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sake, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, black pepper, and sea salt.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and toss until well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil.
- Remove the marinated chicken from the bowl and thread onto skewers if desired. Grill each skewer for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving warm.
