  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2430 ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, mix the cooled brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer half in a 9×9-inch dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and top with half of the cherries. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
  6. Dust with cocoa powder before cutting into squares to serve.
