  • Yield: Serves 8

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • ½ cup whole pecan halves
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar, for dusting
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, very cold and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • ¼ cup ice water, plus more as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Pie Crust: In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water gradually until dough forms. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

  4. Assemble: Pour filling into crust, arrange whole pecan halves on top.
  5. Bake: Bake at 350°F for 50-60 minutes until slightly wobbly in center.
  6. Cool: Allow to cool on a wire rack for at least 3 hours before slicing.
