- 2 sheets frozen puff pastry (17.3 ounces total), thawed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry at room temperature for about 30-40 minutes and preheat the oven to 400°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- On a floured surface, unfold one sheet of puff pastry, brush with half of the melted butter, and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Fold the pastry in half and cut into 1-inch strips.
- Twist each strip several times and place them on one prepared baking sheet.
- Repeat steps 3-5 for the second pastry sheet.
- For overnight preparation, cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (8-12 hours). If baking immediately, proceed to the next step.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm twists and serve.
