  • 1 can (15 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef; cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper; cook until softened (5-7 minutes).
  4. Stir in garlic; cook for another minute.
  5. Return beef to pot; add tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, and broth.
  6. Mix in spices; stir well.
  7. Bring to simmer, then reduce heat to low; cover and cook for 30 minutes to an hour.
